Mammut modernised its global operations with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, replacing a heavily customised ERP approach with a simpler, more scalable platform. The transformation helped create smoother planning processes, more connected inventory management, and a unified view across retail and eCommerce channels.
Founded more than 160 years ago, Mammut has built its reputation on delivering high-performance outdoor equipment and apparel. As consumer expectations evolved and digital channels expanded, the company recognised that its existing ERP environment would need to evolve too.
Partway through its Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations implementation, Mammut paused the project to reassess its direction and ensure it was building a platform that could support the business long term. The review concluded that a simpler approach, supported by Avanade, that focuses on standard Dynamics 365 functionality rather than extensive customisation would provide a more sustainable path forward.
The result was a more connected operating model, with improved planning, better inventory visibility, and a unified view spanning both retail and eCommerce operations.
Employees gained a system designed to support day-to-day work more effectively, while the business established a stable foundation for future innovations such as predictive planning, intelligent stock optimisation and AI-supported product development.
